Maureen Young
Maureen Young was born in Vancouver, BC. At 12 years old Maureen enjoyed training and competing at Junior Kennel Club in Vancouver. Under the wise tutelage of Mrs Murray, Director of the Junior Kennel in Vancouver, BC.
Maureen continued to learn and successfully compete in the Conformation, Obedience shows, Master Hunter and Retriever Field Trials. Maureen was fortunate to be able to train with some of the finest Field Trial Trainers in Canada and the USA.
During her career Maureen has been a responsible breeder of numerous Conformation Show Champions, Obedience Champions and Master Hunters and Field Trial Champions. Maureen has produced numerous detection dogs for law enforcement services in the US and Canada.
As well as producing good looking, loyal companion/family dogs.
Maureen no longer breeds dogs.
She has dedicated herself and her property to the CREATION OF A NO STRESS KENNEL where people can leave their dog/dogs and know THEIR PET/PETS WILL ENJOY THEIR STAY AT ABSOLUTE RETRIEVER KENNELS.
A Little About
Absolute Kennels
Absolute Retriever Kennels sits on a pristine 5 acre property on the North Thompson river. Our Address is 3945 OLD YELLOWHEAD HWY (OLD HWY 5). We are the big White House located on the south end of Rayleigh on the river.
Absolute Retriever Kennels is the only CKC Registered Kennel with in the Kamloops city limits. It takes just 13 minutes to drive from downtown Kamloops and 25 minutes from Sun Peaks.
Maureen Young is the owner and operator of Absolute Retriever Kennels. Maureen has over 35 years of experience training, competing, travelling and boarding dogs. Through the years Maureen noticed some dogs do not thrive in a conventional kennel environment. Dogs can become anxious and suffer while being boarded, even with close attention and play time. You can see the dog is not happy or comfortable.
For this reason Maureen has dedicated herself to creating Absolute Kennels. A place where dogs can roam free with professional supervision. For those caring owners Absolute offers two individual boarding programs.
